How about being Water-Friendly?
Today I want to share some facts that I read a long time ago, about an excellent solvent i.e Water.
If someone ever asked you, Why you drink water?
Then we have a very obvious answer, to quench our thirst. Other than this, there are some interesting facts about water:
1: Water Intake: on average, a man should drink 3 litres and a woman should drink 2.5 litres water in a day.
2: Helps Pregnant Woman: Dehydration may induce contractions in pregnant women.
3: Helps in Weight Loss: as water allows the body to metabolise fats more efficiently.
4: Basic Necessity: Water is the main food that the body needs. Research says that an average person can live without food for nearly a month, but cannot survive without water for even a week.
5: Health problems :
A) Tooth Problem: Good water intake prevents cavities and tooth decay. Water helps to produce saliva, which keeps your mouth and teeth clean.
B) Skincare: Keep yourself hydrated as it prevents the skin from sagging
C) Arthritis: Good hydration can prevent arthritis. With a good intake of water, there will be less friction in your joints, therefore, less chance of developing arthritis.
D)Heart Disease: Drinking enough water every day can help reduce heart disease and cancer.
6.Get Rid of Overeating: Have a glass of water 30 minutes before every meal. Also, avoid drinking water immediately after a meal or during the meal.
Please keep in mind when we should avoid drinking water :
1) During Workout: Due to workout, your body temperature is high, but as soon as you drink water, your body cools down. It can cause electrolyte depletion. As a result, a person may suffer from headache, nausea and dizziness.
2)Wash Down Spicy Food: You should never drink water after eating hot peppers as the burning sensation is caused by a molecule called capsaicin.
3)Artificial Sweeteners: Avoid them as they enhance appetite and can lead to weight gain.
4)Before Going to Bed :
A) Drinking water can increase the symptoms of facial and limb swelling in the morning because our kidneys work slower at night in comparison to the daytime.
B) Having water a good while ago before sleeping can possibly result in interrupted sleep (Urinating).
Research says: 2% reduction of water levels in the body can lead to a 20% decrease in mental and physical performance.
By the time you feel thirsty, don’t let your body lose more than 1% of its total water. Take a break right now and have a glass of water.
Looking forward to your suggestions !!
